PC World - Netbook pioneer Asustek Computer plans to launch its own e-reader and a tablet PC to rival Apple's iPad in the second half of this year.
The bookseller will soon sell its own electronic reader, the Wall Street Journal reported, in a move that could further heat up the competition in the market dominated by the Kindle.
Sony Corp. plans to offer an e-book reader with the ability to wirelessly download books, injecting more competition in a small but fast-growing market by adopting a key feature of the rival Kindle from Amazon.com.
